Why I Like What I Do

Why I Like What I Do

Since my article* a few weeks ago regarding the new clients that I helped save over $5,000, I have had numerous conversations about how those clients must have felt to realize that they had been paying more than double what their reports had shown.

I realized through these conversations that being able to use my experience and expertise to help others was the exact reason I enjoy what I do so much.

Many investors have been receiving very little value from the big banks over the last few years as they look to increase margins by reducing the services they provide for those under certain minimum account levels.  On top of this they continue to push high-cost mutual funds, sometimes with restrictions around selling.

Whether it be the young professionals and entrepreneurs who are just beginning to save for their futures or the retirees with limited investible assets who aren’t quite ready to sell their homes, quality service and a financial plan is helpful in guiding through the next stage of life.  These are the stories I like to hear and help with.

As a young professional I enjoy working with others in similar positions, and not just helping but taking inspiration and ideas from them that I can use to make my business stronger.  The clients I work with in this demographic share the same values of hard work and doing what is best for customers and I am more than happy to refer their services to my family and friends as I know they will be treated with the same level or service I myself aim to deliver.

As for the retirees and those nearing retirement, my very first clients were my parents who were about to retire so I know very well the issues that were and still are important to them. I know how hard they worked to provide a good life for my brother and myself and how much they deserve a stress-free retirement.  Although every client has different circumstances, goals and objectives, I treat all of them with the same level of respect and diligence that I do for my own parents to ensure that they too can have the retirement they deserve.

I am well aware that investing and financial planning are things that most people don’t enjoy and that for many, these topics sit in the back of their minds and cause stress.  After just two short meetings we can develop a Financial Plan for a client to accomplish their goals, get them on track and remove the stress.  This is what I enjoy most about doing what I do.
