Year-End Thoughts...

Although the markets are open three more days next week, for all intents and purposes, today is the last work day of the 2017 year. The office is very quiet already as people slip out early to do their Christmas shopping or get home to their families.  I have had a very busy few weeks, both professionally and personally, and am excited to spend the next few days enjoying the excitement of Christmas through my boy’s eyes.  My 4-year-old (AJ) has seemed to just grasp the idea of Christmas and my near-2-year-old (Ben) takes his brother’s excitement and multiplies it by 10.  Of course, Ben does this for everything.  He is a loud little boy!

I was happily writing Christmas and Holiday cards the last two weeks to my wonderful clients and must admit that I caught my self reflecting on each person.  Whether I had worked with them for the last 8 years or 2017 was our first year, each client had a story and usually a connection to another client.  Admittedly this lead me down a rabbit hole a few times and it took me way longer than it should have to write the cards, but I had a great time reminiscing on all the people I have met and the wonderful people who have trusted me to help them with their finances.

I was also proud to give away many raffle tickets for our Annual Rotary Heart of the Matter raffle which raises money for great projects locally.  Not only were we able to donate to a great cause but hopefully on or more of my clients will win a prize!

It has been a great year that may be capped of with the arrival of our third son as my wife (Liz) is due very soon.  We are looking forward to meeting the little guy and looking forward to another exciting and rewarding year in 2018.

I hope you all find time to relax and enjoy the holidays with loved ones.

All the best,

Quinn.
